The Final Four delivered the goods! This year’s tournament needed a Saturday like that, and a matchup between Houston and Florida will decide the best team in college basketball this season and potentially the last decade.

It’s time to dive into this matchup, and the best college basketball player prop trends for the National Championship!

NCAAM Player Prop Trend: Milos Uzan Points

NCAAM Player Props Today Milos Uzan

I’m going to start by going to a similar player that helped us pick up the only prop that cashed on Saturday. Chad Baker-Mazara had a great performance for Auburn against Florida and I think Milos Uzan is due to do the same.

Much like Baker-Mazara, Uzan’s shot volume profile is very solid. 10 FGA/G over the course of the NCAA Tournament is really nice for a player who’s points prop is at just 11.5. But he’s struggled to find efficiency over the last two games and that’s surprising for a player that’s been a huge reason for their offensive surge.

Uzan is a versatile scorer that is one of the most efficient three point shooters in the country (44%) while also being an extremely efficient mid range scorer. The Gators have struggled to defend the midrange this season, ranking 291st in far twos defense. Nobody takes more far 2’s than Uzan for Houston.

The Gators have been an elite 3-point defense all season long, we saw it against Auburn on Saturday night. I think that minimizes the impact of LJ Cryer and Emanuel Sharp who took over against Duke. Instead, if the Cougs want to be in this game they will need Uzan to take over.

NCAAM Player Prop Trend: Will Richard 3PTM

NCAAM Player Prop Trend Will Richard

We’re in a bit of a pattern here, with another player that hasn’t been able to clear his listed number the last two games. But I see this as another opportunity to get back in.

We went over in Saturday’s article that Houston’s defenses force opponents into a ton of three point shots. It was why I targeted Tyrese Proctor, who unfortunately missed every three he took. But both Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel made three triples on Saturday.

We’ve all been witness to one of the most legendary March Madness player performances from Walter Clayton in the Elite Eight and Final Four. Houston has too, so they’ll be looking to do anything they can to take the red hot shooter away. I see Will Richard benefitting from that.

The lengthy Florida guard is taking 58% of his shots from three this season, making them at a 35.2% clip. But his recent cold stretch has been uncharacteristic and the fact he’s taken 3 or less threes the last two games is shocking. He’s only taken 3 or less threes just 8 times all season long.

This is a shooter averaging over 5.5 3PTA/G this season. I know he’s been taking a backseat to the magic that is Walter Clayton in this tournament but I think he’s going to see a few more open looks because of that in this title matchup.

NCAAM Player Prop Trend: Walter Clayton Assists

NCAAM Player Prop Trend Walter Clayton Jr

I feel like I’ve been foreshadowing this pick so let’s get it to the people. How can you not back the player that’s putting together one of the most mind boggling March performances we’ve ever witnessed?

I mentioned how much attention I think Clayton will be getting in this game. Clayton is capable of knocking down outside shots at just about any moment and Houston is prone to giving up a lot of those looks. But I think they do everything they can to force Alijah Martin and Will Richard to be the ones taking them.

The Cougs are an elite defensive unit, when they give up points it takes creativity and ball movement. They give up a lot of assisted buckets, 57.9% of opponent made field goals to be exact. That ranks 317th nationally.

If you take a look at their run in this NCAA Tournament you’ll see Ryan Nembhard of Gonzaga post 11 assists, Braden Smith post 15, Zakai Zeigler post 5 and Flagg on Saturday totaled 4. All of these guys were the primary ball handler for Houston’s opponent.

Clayton has that in common, as he possesses the ball a team leading 24.9% of possessions for the Gators and leads the team with a 22.7% assist rate.

The attention he will receive in this game is going to allow his ability as a facilitator to shine. That’s why pairing Will Richard’s 3PTM with Clayton’s assists could pay off in spades.
