It’s another beautiful Saturday in college football! We’re more than halfway into the season, which is sad to think about, but that means we’ve got plenty of data on our hands to help us with our bets.
Let’s get into the week 8 CFB slate.
NCAAF Player Prop Trend: Kyle McCord Pass Yards
I’m not one to get over excited overly seeing a greened out graph on the site. There’s always a reason for it. But I do think McCord’s arm will be plenty important for this big time matchup with Penn State.
The Buckeyes have really struggled to run the football this season, ranking 79th in EPA/run. Some of that has to do with their injuries at the running back position, having missed TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams. Their statuses remain unclear heading into this one.
The matchup against Notre Dame is a quality comparable to this matchup. McCord didn’t clear this number by much but he was asked to throw the ball 37 times in that one. If he’s near that number again he has a good chance to clear this low number.
NCAAF Player Prop Trend: Corey Kiner Rush Yards
The Bearcats are on quite the skid, having lost 4 straight games. This is a gotta have it match up here with Baylor coming to town and Cincinnati sitting as 3.5 point favorites. Kiner has gone over this number in both of Cincinnati’s wins this season.
He’s the clear leader at the running back spot for Cincinnati, averaging 14.5 carries per game. Which is great news for him as Baylor ranks 103rd in opponent EPA/rush. They’re giving up 5.6 yards per carry and nearly 200 total rushing yards per game.
NCAAF Player Prop Trend: Haynes King Pass Yards
The former Texas A&M transfer Haynes King has been relied on heavily by the Yellow Jackets this season. He’s throwing the ball 31.8 times per game and the results have led to him clearing 262.5 passing yards in 67% of games.
He’s in a good spot to clear this number again as Boston College has struggled immensely against the pass this season. BC ranks 121st in opponent EPA/pass and allowing 9.3 YPA which is 5th worst in the nation.
NCAAF Player Props Today: Keon Coleman Receiving Yards
We’ve seen Keon Coleman show out in some of the biggest games on Florida State’s schedule this season. But I’m not sure he’s seen a defense like Duke’s, so let me tell you why the under may be worth a look.
Duke is the #1 defense in opponent EPA/pass. But more importantly, explosive passing plays just do not happen against this defense. And when Coleman has cleared this number, he’s needed those.
When opposing QB’s attempt a pass of 20+ air yards vs Duke, they are completing just 3.6% of them, 1 FOR 28! Exactly 50% of Coleman’s receiving yards this season have come on targets of 20+ air yards. Food for thought.
NCAAF Player Props Today: Ja’Quinden Jackson Rush Yards
Here’s why the filters on the Props.Cash dashboard are a difference maker for your college football player prop handicapping. Jackson has a couple of great samples we wouldn’t be able to find without it.
The first, Jackson crushed this line last season against the Trojans, going for 105 yards on 13 carries.
Next up. The Utah quarterback room has been quite the back and forth with Cam Rising unable to return. Bryson Barnes has made three starts this season, Jackson has gone over in the most recent two. Barnes will be starting this Saturday.
The reason this is the case is because the other starting QB this season is Nate Johnson. Johnson is used extensively in the rushing game while Barnes is a pure pocket passer.
As for the 1 game he went under with Barnes, Jackson was competing with fellow RB Micah Bernard who is now out for the season. Jackson only received 5 carries vs Florida but has since received 19 and 22 carries in the other two games with Barnes as the starter.
Some awesome information we have in our hands now to make the over look like a great spot.
