Now THIS is an incredible college football slate we have on our hands! Bedlam, Kansas State vs Texas, Missouri vs Georgia, LSU vs Alabama, Washington vs USC, the list goes on.
With that being the case, I have a perfect idea. Sometimes you have a really exciting matchup but can’t seem to figure out who will win. So instead of picking a side, let’s find a player prop to add a little spice to each of these big games.
These are some CFB player props to look at for each of the 5 big games in week 10.
NCAAF Player Prop: Adonai Mitchell Receiving Yards
Let’s start in the noon slate with Kansas State and Texas, a game with massive BIG12 Championship implications.
With backup Malik Murphy at quarterback the Longhorns will likely be feeding running back Jonathan Brooks plenty. KSU has lost a few linebackers to injury and has taken quite the step back in their run defense as a result. Since week 7 they rank 100th in opponent EPA/rush.
Texas’ success in the run game plays perfectly into AD Mitchell’s skillset. The former Georgia transfer has consistently been taking the top off opposing defenses. With 66% of his targets going for 10+ air yards.
Mitchell doesn’t need much volume to produce, he’s seen 3 receptions in 6 of 8 games this season. But he can make you pay downfield where the Wildcats have struggled. Chris Klieman’s team has allowed 15 completions of 20+ air yards, which ranks 90th in the nation.
NCAAF Player Prop: Dillion Gabriel Pass Yards
The last edition of Bedlam for the foreseeable future. Yet somehow this game isn’t being played at night. A true shame.
If you’re shopping for the best line like me, you should be able to find Gabriel’s passing number right around 250 yards. He’s cleared that number in 6 of his 8 starts this season.
Just like the Sooners need a bounce back, Gabriel does too, he attempted just 19 passes last week in their loss to Kansas.
I’m expecting to see this north of his 31.5 pass attempt average this season, as in his other competition games vs UCF and Texas he averaged 38. In games he’s attempted 30+ passes he’s gone over his passing yards number every single time.
Gabriel should be able to hit some chunk plays against the Oklahoma State defense, they’ve given up the 6th most completions of 20+ air yards.
NCAAF Player Prop: Dominic Lovett Receiving Yards
How about a revenge game narrative for a battle between the SEC East’s top two teams? If you didn’t know, the Georgia wide receiver was a Missouri Tiger just last season. Will he have the inside scoop on the Mizzou defense?
The upward trend in his performance is a direct result of the team losing star tight end Brock Bowers to injury. Lovett is running 30% more routes per game since Bowers went down in week 7.
The Bulldogs have struggled to run the ball effectively this season and as a result have leaned on Carson Beck’s arm quite a bit. Expect that to continue with Missouri ranking 71st in opponent EPA/pass.
NCAAF Player Prop: Jase McClellan Rush Yards
The battle for the SEC West is in the primetime spot as LSU travels to Tuscaloosa. My big question here is whether or not the Tigers can get any stops defensively.
They have been absolutely brutal against the run, allowing 5.6 yards per carry. They now rank 111th in opponent EPA/rush. That’s going to feed directly into what Alabama wants to do in helping keep Jayden Daniels and the LSU offense off the field.
As for McClellan, he’s cleared this number in back-to-back games. That’s very important when looking at this CFB player prop, as I’ve noticed a clear shift in his workload. He’s toted the rock 43 times the last two weeks. Whereas in previous weeks he was closer to a 50/50 split with Roydell Williams.
Now that Williams is taking more of a backseat, having not seen more than 7 carries in three straight weeks, this is McClellan’s opportunity to take advantage of Saturday night.
NCAAF Player Prop: Brenden Rice Anytime TD
Now this game should be fun. Game total is set at 76.5! So why not find a decently priced touchdown scorer?
Rice is the #2 target for Caleb Williams behind Tahj Washington. But when the team gets into the red zone, it’s actually Rice that’s the top target. Rice has 12 targets inside the opponent 20-yard line, meanwhile Washington is yet to record a reception.
For a game that is projected to have 11 touchdowns scored, the price is pretty reasonable on Rice to find the end zone for the 9th time this season.
