NBA Player Prop: TJ McConnell over 14.5 points+assists
McConnell’s +/- in Game 1 against the Knicks was +9 for the Pacers compared to Haliburton who was -12. He scored 18 points with 3 assists in game 1 in 22 minutes of playing time. We’re not suggesting he’s taking Haliburton’s spot in the starting lineup, but he certainly has cemented a 20+ minute role for game 2.
Given his ability to score and facilitate we’re going with TJ to clear 14.5 Pts+Ast tonight. He has cleared this line in 16 of 20 (80%) games this season when playing 20-24 minutes, including 7 straight games. This hit rate actually rose to 82% in games in which he played with Haliburton.
Look for an active McConnell again tonight!
NBA Player Prop: Precious Achiuwa over 8.5 points+rebounds
Mitchell Robinson is likely out for the rest of the season (thanks Joel Embiid…) so Precious will enter Thibb’s 7-man rotation tonight. In the one game from the first round Sixers series that Mitch missed, Precious played 20 minutes. This matchup against Indiana is arguably better for him than the Sixers were, so we might see even more than 20 minutes for Precious tonight, but when he’s played 15-20 minutes this season, he’s cleared this line in 17 of 21 games.
He was also awesome in two games against the Pacers back in February, albeit playing 43 minutes in both of those games. He had 21 and 28 PR in those two games. He won’t see quite that many minutes tonight, but he should be able to get out in transition in ways Mitch just isn’t capable of and we should see some easy buckets for Precious.
NBA Player Prop: Isaiah Jackson over 7.5 points+rebounds
This is a scary one as Jackson is only projected for 13 minutes tonight, we’re encouraged by his rising playing time over the playoffs and efficiency on the court.
Playing time: In the first 4 games of the series vs MIL, Jackson played 2 minutes or less! In games 5 and 6, his playing time was increased to 9 and 10 minutes. In game 1 of the Knicks series he played 13 minutes with a +/- of +5 during his run.
Efficiency: When playing 12-14 minutes he has cleared in 5 of 7 games (71%), averaging 10.4PR!!!
In a game full of 40+ minute players, it’s scary going with the guy projected for 13+ minutes, but we value his efficiency and potentially some upside for his playing time.
