MLB Player Prop Trend: Shohei Ohtani Hits+Runs+RBI
When in doubt, trust Ohtani. After going 0/4 in Game 2, Ohtani is primed for a bounceback spot, as he has recorded 2+ HRR in eight of his last ten games. Ohtani has opposing starter Michael King’s number – he is 6/14 in the matchup with two doubles and three home runs.
MLB Player Prop Trend: Aaron Nola Hits Allowed
Nola has allowed 5+ hits in seven of his last ten starts. He’ll face a Mets team that doesn’t necessarily have great numbers against righties over the last month, but anything goes in Game 3 after a thrilling Game 2. Nola has been worse against lefties than righties for the majority of the year, but over the last month has developed weaknesses to righties as well that are pretty alarming (.250 ISO / .418 wOBA / 43% hard contact). If Nola can’t get strikeouts, this lineup will find a way to generate base runners.
MLB Player Prop Trend: Sean Manaea Earned Runs Allowed
Manaea has allowed 2+ ER in seven of his last ten outings. While the Phillies aren’t necessarily crushing lefties at the moment, they do have enough history in the matchup to feel comfortable backing this play (8 hitters on this PHI offense have hit a HR in this matchup).
MLB Player Prop Trend: Trea Turner Hits+Runs+RBI
Turner has recorded 2+ HRR in six of his last ten games and is also 5/16 in this matchup against Sean Manaea with a home run. Turner’s stolen base upside gives him a bit more edge to get in scoring position (stole two bags in Game 2).
MLB Player Prop Trend: Walker Buehler Hits Allowed
Buehler has allowed 5+ hits in eight of his last ten starts and 13/16 this season. The Padres have the 5th-highest wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the last 30 days (wRC+ at 119 – 3rd-highest among remaining playoff teams). Buehler may have a shorter leash in the postseason, but if the Padres were able to get to Jack Flaherty, they should be able to go scorched-Earth on Walker.
